Free custom email with Cloudflare Email Routing

If you want a custom email address without paying for Google Workspace, Cloudflare Email Routing is a simple option.

The basic setup is:

1. Add your domain to Cloudflare.
2. Enable Email Routing and forward an address like hello@yourdomain.com to your Gmail.
3. In Gmail, use Settings -> Accounts and Import -> Add another email address.
4. When Gmail asks for SMTP details, use smtp.gmail.com with your Gmail address and a Google App Password.

That gives you:

• free inbound forwarding from your custom domain
• the ability to send from that address inside Gmail
• no separate mailbox to manage

The main limitation is that Cloudflare is only forwarding email. It is not a full mailbox service, and deliverability can be weaker than a proper hosted email product.
